Mauzy — Privacy Policy
Last updated 2 September 2026
Mauzy collects nothing about you. There is no account, no login, no analytics, no advertising, no tracking, and no server that stores anything you do.
This page exists because the App Store requires every app to have a privacy policy, including apps that collect nothing. It says what the app actually does, in plain terms.
Location
Mauzy asks for access to your location so it can show where you are on the map and guide you along a route. It also asks to use your location in the background, so guidance keeps working while the screen is locked and the phone is in a pocket or a handlebar mount.
Your coordinates are used on the device and stay on the device. They are not sent anywhere, not stored on any server, not shared with anyone, and not used to build any profile of you. Routing runs on your phone, from map data that is already on your phone. If you deny location access, the app still shows the map, but it cannot guide you.
What the app stores on your phone
- Whether you have seen the intro screen, and whether voice guidance is muted.
- The destination of an unfinished ride, so a ride survives the app being closed. It is forgotten after twelve hours.
- Downloaded map data, and the date the app last checked for newer map data.
All of it lives in the app's own storage and is deleted when you delete the app.
Network
The only network requests Mauzy ever makes are for map data: once a day it asks whether newer road data exists, and it downloads that data when you tap Download. The files are served from a Cloudflare R2 bucket. Those requests carry no identifier, no account, and no information about you beyond what any file download necessarily reveals, such as your IP address, which is handled by Cloudflare as the hosting provider and is not retained by us or connected to anything.
Everything else — the map, the routing engine, turn-by-turn guidance — works with the network off. Airplane mode is a supported way to use this app, not a degraded one.
Children
Mauzy is not directed at children and collects no data from anyone, including children.
Changes
If the app ever starts collecting anything, this page will say so before that version ships, and the App Store privacy label will change with it.
